Ler um livro ou uma história pode parecer uma atividade natural para boa parte das pessoas, mas para o nosso cérebro é questão de treino. Quando, no século 15, o livro passou a ser um instrumento difusor de informação, as pessoas tiveram que ensinar o cérebro a se desconectar do mundo ao redor e mergulhar neste outro universo, senão muito do conteúdo não seria absorvido. É esse o argumento que Jolanta Galecka, especialista em marketing on-line na editora europeia Young Digital Planet, usa para explicar porque a internet entrou com tanta facilidade na vida moderna – principalmente entre as crianças. “A internet permite que nosso cérebro funcione do jeito que ele mais gosta”, defende.
De acordo com a especialista, que esteve nesta semana na Contec Brasil, conferência sobre educação, conteúdo de mídia infantil e tecnologia, o cérebro sempre se desenvolveu em movimento, prestando atenção em tudo que está ao redor. “É assim que aprendemos com mais facilidade e a internet é um ambiente disperso de aprendizagem, é mais natural para nosso cérebro”, argumenta. Até por isso, a introdução desse novo universo é muito difícil em escolas com modelos de ensino tradicional, que não fomentam nos alunos a multiconexão entre conteúdos, informações e experiências de vida.
“Se o conteúdo não é ensinado de maneira interativa, o aluno não aprende. O cérebro absorve informações quando constrói seus próprios modelos mentais de conexões. Armazenamos a informação por meio dessas conexões, e elas vão ser feitas de acordo com o conhecimento prévio de cada um”, explica a especialista, que completa: “Por isso que conexões não podem ser ensinadas, ou mesmo forçadas, da mesma maneira que não se pode dar conhecimento. Podemos dar informação, para que ela seja absorvida. Com base nela é que se constrói o conhecimento”.
Entender como o nosso cérebro aprende e como ele responde a estímulos é um grande passo para melhorar a qualidade do processo de ensino e aprendizagem, defende a especialista. “É aí que o professor estará usando por completo sua habilidade pedagógica, todo o seu potencial. Incitando discussões, instigando a curiosidade, mostrando caminhos para relacionar os conteúdos ao mundo real e a vida fora da escola”, afirma Galecka.
Desse modo, modelos como a sala de aula invertida ou o aprendizado baseado em projetos ganham força, já que trazem melhores resultados no desenvolvimento dessas conexões. “A sala de aula invertida não é a solução sozinha, assim como trabalhar com projetos também não é. Tudo precisa ser misturado, combinado com uma série de outras práticas que mostrem para os estudantes a relevância do tema que está sendo abordado. É preciso conectá-lo com o mundo real e não apenas replicá-lo porque está no livro ou faz parte do currículo”, afirma.
Ainda segundo a especialista, o principal papel da escola tem que ser fomentar o pensamento crítico e a análise das informações. “Temos que ensinar as crianças a pensar. É por meio do pensamento que vem a diversidade de informação e opinião. Os alunos tem que saber discernir o que é importante do que não é. Eles têm que saber como usar as informações adquiridas para qualquer propósito que eles queiram, têm que se apoderar delas”, conclui.
